What you need to know

Dan Lungren has enjoyed a long and varied career in politics as a member of Congress (first elected in 1978), California Attorney General, Republican candidate for governor, and now once again a member of Congress. Along the way, Lungren has picked up a few tricks, ingratiated himself to lobbyists, and developed a brazen sense of entitlement. Most recently, Lungren was revealed to be part of a group of partisan Republicans that plotted to undermine President Obama the very day he took office. Never afraid to "bend" the rules in his favor, Lungren has been less than generous to the American taxpayer and residents of his own district, refusing to cut his own office budget but having no qualms about voting to end Medicare.
